ON the way to visit this remarkable Acton Park home, the anticipation builds in an uncommon way.

You turn off Acton Rd, onto Acton Dr, rolling past acreages with paddocks of sheep, horses and some rather nice homes.

Then you turn onto a private road, a sealed pathway that winds its way seemingly forever upward.

There are only four homes with the privilege to be positioned in this secluded corner of Acton Park.

And it will be almost 2km later when you arrive at the peak, and the gorgeous modern masterpiece that takes pride of place at No.274.

From the front door onwards, everything about the home feels super-sized, but also warm and welcoming, stylish and sophisticated.

Walk the hall that leads to the living zone, but prepare to see something you’ve never seen before. This is a view for the ages.

Standing centrally near the kitchen and dining area, there are stupendous views to enjoy in opposite directions.

On one side, you can see all the way to the river, Wrest Point and the mountain. Swing around and you will be drinking in a vista that stretches past Seven Mile Beach, Sorell and Lewisham beyond.

This living zone has the feeling of sitting on top of the world.

Once the mind-blowing location of the property has sunk in, the details to be found around the home begin to reveal themselves.

There are bricks that were recycled from the Hobart Airport; trees from the property that were transformed into the most eye-catching features; and a master bedroom ensuite with a stand-alone tub and its own private view of the world — there is so much to discover.

Property representative at Nest Property, Todd Pepper, described the almost six-year-old home as “magical”.

“It is a spectacular property, a unique home in a unique position,” he said.

“Sitting here at night time, it is easy to become mesmerised by the suburban lights.

“The architectural style of the design is contemporary and industrial, but this is softened by the timber features in the living area, study and bathrooms.

“It is sophisticated, spectacular and truly amazing.

“I imagine people will want to spend more time here at inspections than is the norm. It could take a while to see everything and take in all that is on offer.”

No.274 Acton is a perfect family home with its four large bedrooms, each with walk-in wardrobes and two with ensuites.

It is easy to find the children’s bedrooms in their part of the home with the brightly coloured doors.

Comfort will never be a consideration, with the home’s double glazed floor-to-ceiling windows an impressive feature throughout, alongside underfloor heating in places and a woodheater, too.

With the views so expansive and far-reaching, these huge windows do a wonderful job of drawing the outdoors inward.

When it is meal time, there are options depending on whether you are creating a casual meal at the long timber bench or the kitchen’s island with gas cooking. Or at other times when entertaining a group of friends, perhaps the dinner table will be the finest choice.

Alongside quality appliances, the kitchen also has a butler’s pantry.

The huge front door makes a design statement. Positioned nearby, there is a study and an exercise room but perhaps they could be bedrooms, if needed.

Throughout the property, custom steel features and timber sourced from the property blend with ease.

Space for the whole family.

On the city side of the property, a custom-designed and fabricated barbecue area takes pride of place. And on the other, there is a huge sundeck.

Expect floor-to-ceiling tiling through the wet areas.

Under the house there is a big 124sq m garage and workshop space.

Mr Pepper said he was saying “wow” to himself before he even reached the front door on a first visit to this exceptional property. Will you be next to say wow?
